Sharp today announces the addition of a new 540W monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) panel to its half-cut cell portfolio – the NU-JD540. The new high wattage module is designed specifically for free-field and commercial rooftop installations, providing customers with a cutting edge design and high reliability.
High Power Output
The brand new NU-JD540 has a module efficiency of 20.89% and is designed for a system voltage up to 1,500 V, using 144 M10 wafer size half-cells. This offers the best balance between cost and system compatibility at best performance.
A low temperature coefficient of -0.341%/°C for the power output ensures good performance at a high environmental temperature, which becomes increasingly important due to climate change and the resulting rise in temperatures.
High product reliability
The new module features 10 busbar technology using round ribbons which increases the power gain from each cell and makes them less sensitive to microcracks, offering higher module reliability. The module is also covered by Sharp’s 15-year product guarantee and 25-year performance guarantee with a minimum of 85% in year 25.
All Sharp half-cell modules have three small junction boxes instead of just one, each fitted with one bypass diode. These junction boxes are transferring less heat to the cells above and in turn boost the longevity of the panels and the overall performance of the system.
The safety, quality and durability of the panel has been recognised with IEC seals (IEC61215 and IEC61730). The modules have been rigorously tested for compliance with international standards and for endurance under extreme conditions, passing tests for ammonia, salt mist, sand and PID resistance.
Easy to handle
The NU-JD540 is 2,279x1,134mm, including an optimized frame with a weight of only 27,8kg, making it easy to set up and deploy.
In addition, the NU-JD540 module uses 1,750 mm cables which enable trouble-free wiring in landscape installations and also allows for leapfrog wiring when installing in portrait, helping to further reduce system costs.
Andrew Lee, Sales Director EMEA, Sharp Energy Solutions Europe said: “We are pleased to expand our half-cut cell portfolio with a module that provides a higher wattage size of 540W, an increased number of 10 busbars and M10 wafer, offering our customers simple and efficient installation for free-field and industrial rooftop projects. This module completes our mono half-cut cell portfolio and, with services offered across Europe, Africa and Middle East, our customers can always count on maximized product and service value.
