Sharp photovoltaics

Sharp has attained global brand recognition and has a wide product portfolio far beyond PV. As a result, Sharp is better protected against market fluctuations in individual industries than non-diversified PV brands. An additional safeguard for our guarantees. Sharp creates products in the following areas: smart home, smart offices, entertainment, education, health, security, industry, and automobiles.

Sharp solar PV panels are always a safe bet. This is because we focus on providing proven technology that has passed rigorous tests and will perform for decades to come. Our PV line-up covers various sizes of monocrystalline half-cell panels for residential, commercial & industrial solar power systems and multi-megawatt solar panel farms.

Tier 1 - Bank on Sharp for your projects

Sharp is continually ranked Tier 1 by Bloomberg New Energy Finance Corporation. This is an independent testament to our financial health as a corporation and module maker. Only a small fraction of all PV manufacturers make it into this strict list. Tier 1 suppliers are selected based on their creditworthiness.

Sharp panels pass the hardest tests

Our extensive, discerning tests are based on decades of industry experience and are up to five times stricter than IEC standards demand. We know the typical module failures and can test new materials, BOS components and new technologies accordingly to ensure our panels’ longterm reliability. From compliance with international standards to endurance under extreme conditions: our PV modules have been tested, certified and awarded by a number of independent institutions.

Passed durability tests:

PID free (IEC TS62804)

No degradation under high voltage in humid and hot environments.

Ammonia Test (IEC62716)

Proven resistance to corrosion in wet atmospheres with high concentrations of dissolved ammonia - such as from livestock.

Salt Mist Test (IEC61701)

Resistance to corrosion from salt mist for modules operating in wet atmospheres with high levels of dissolved salt - such as at the coast.

Sand / Dust Test (IEC60068)

Resistance to damage (such as erosion or ingress) by sand and dust particles in dusty environments.

5,400 Pa Tested Snow Load (IEC 61215)

Mechanical load test ensures durability in high windload or snow load. Note: The snow load can also depend on the installation method.
