Sharp Europe Recognised by IDC: Accelerating IT Services Business Growth in Europe

Sharp Europe was recently the focus of an IDC Vendor Profile report. According to the IDC Vendor Profile published in March 2025, titled "Sharp Europe Connects the Dots to Accelerate IT Services Business Growth" (IDC Doc. #EUR153233925)“, this IDC Vendor Profile summarises Sharp's European IT services journey to date and its plans for continued growth, strengthened by its acquisitions and partnerships, and in support of customers as they transition into digital businesses.

Sharp Makes a Strategic Shift Towards IT Services

Since 2019, Sharp Europe has undertaken strategic shifts to expand beyond its traditional core business areas. According to the IDC Vendor Profile, “Sharp estimates that its IT services business has grown at a CAGR of 10% over the past five years, from a low revenue base; it aims to grow its IT services business at a CAGR of 10% over the next five years to 2031.”

Sharp's approach provides a clear roadmap for clients transitioning into more sophisticated digital business environments, which require reliable and secure managed IT services.

Significant Sharp Acquisitions Bolster Capabilities

IDC identifies three pivotal acquisitions as cornerstones of Sharp’s European IT services growth strategy:

Complete I.T. (UK, 2019): “Complete I.T. was established in 1992. It initially had significant presence in the south of England but has a wider national presence supported by nine offices and more than 140 technical experts.”

ITpoint AG (Switzerland, 2021): “Established in 2002, ITpoint AG (ITP) provides a comprehensive suite of integrated solutions, cloud and managed services, and consulting for the workplace. Today, it employs more than 100 people and has two datacenters housing more than 3PB of data.”

Apsia (France, 2024): “France-headquartered Apsia, established in 1998, offers a broad range of services such as cloud-enabled enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), cybersecurity, data/AI and cloud analytics, and business and IT consultancy and implementation services. It operates in Spain, Italy, and France. In FY22, it generated €22.5 million in revenue and today, it employs more than 130 experts.”

These acquisitions have enabled Sharp to offer more comprehensive IT solutions, combining managed services, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity capabilities, thus effectively meeting diverse client needs across multiple sectors and geographical regions.

Sharp Has Cybersecurity Leadership and Compliance Expertise

Cybersecurity is a significant challenge facing European businesses today, particularly with new compliance mandates such as the EU's NIS2 directive.

Sharp’s European Technology Support Centre (ETSC) based in Warsaw, Poland, provides multilingual 24/7 managed security and monitoring services, helping clients manage cybersecurity risks effectively. This strategic investment ensures Sharp’s clients receive comprehensive security management, from firewall solutions to managed detection and response services.

The IDC Vendor Profile noted, “Sharp works with security expert partners to provide customers with security awareness training, security guidance, and security solutions.”

CyberSmart: Sharp UK has worked with CyberSmart since 2021 for the delivery of the latter's Cyber Essentials as a service to U.K. customers. This partnership has now been extended, with Cyber Essentials being hosted in Germany to support European customers, who are increasingly mandated to comply with robust legislation.”

Nimblr: Sharp partnered with Nimblr to provide security awareness training to its customers. Established in Malmö, Sweden, Nimblr currently employs approximately 60 people based in Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, and Finland (opened February 2025), with an office in Norway due to open in March 2025.”

Sharp Delivers Tangible Client Successes

IDC’s profile includes concrete examples of how Sharp’s expanded IT service capabilities are benefiting clients:

OEX Cursor: “OEX Cursor is a sales and marketing services company that has operated successfully in Poland for over 20 years. It has developed long-standing and established relationships with major brands, for which key performance indicators are the quantifiable measure of success. It employs approximately 500 people in Poland; had more than 7,000 subcontractors; and generated €67.2 million in revenue in 2023. It typically has 90 active projects at any one time and turned to Sharp for support in the scale-up of its retail operations, as it depends on technology combined with its experience and field experts for its success.”

Bertschi Bakery: “Bertschi Bakery, established in 1896 in Switzerland, outsourced its IT to Sharp IT Services so it can focus on delivering more than 1,000 bakery products to customers such as airlines.”

We believe these examples clearly illustrate how Sharp’s expanded capabilities deliver measurable business outcomes, validating the strategic decisions behind Sharp’s European growth.
