Two people using a Windows Collaboration Display

Why Windows Collaboration Display Certification Matters

The Windows collaboration display from Sharp is the first such device to be certified by Microsoft under its Skype for Business program. Christopher Parker, Sharp Senior Product Manager for Visual Solutions, looks at why certification is a vital component in your buying decision.

Windows collaboration display is a brand-new classification of device. Meeting all of Microsoft’s demanding specifications, the display combines Sharp’s award-winning touch technology with innovative IoT sensors that monitor conditions like temperature and air quality.

Think of it as the next evolution of the interactive display, something we are already experts at delivering with our BIG PAD range, but also the first to be smart-building ready, as well as the first that exploits the power and potential of IoT to make our meeting rooms more productive and collaborative spaces.

We are currently the only company to-date delivering Windows collaboration display devices to the market and to receive certification from Microsoft, proving that it meets Microsoft’s rigorous Skype for Business certification.

Created by Microsoft, Skype for Business certification guarantees deep and reliable product quality. Users who purchase a Skype for Business certified product can be assured of a great, long-lasting and satisfying user experience.

Only products that successfully pass all the tests outlined in the Skype for Business Certification Program receive certification.

Microsoft has defined the minimum specification and functional requirements for the Windows collaboration display. Along with the specification in terms of camera, audio and microphone, it also set out far-reaching demands in terms of features, functionality and overall intended performance of the device.

Sharp’s team of engineers and development partners met all the guidelines as defined by Microsoft, meaning we’re the first company with a solution that fulfils the requirements, offering all the features, functionality and outstanding user experience needed to receive certification.

Also, this is the first time you have a room-scale display, in our case 70-inch in size, combined with all the audio visual components, such as cameras, speakers and microphones, built into the device.

Other devices that have already passed the Skype for Business certification process have been typically standalone devices, such as speakerphones, desk phones or web cams, for example. No unified display systems have carried the valuable and highly desirable Skype for Business certification until now.

Windows collaboration display User Experience

Microsoft as a brand is hugely trusted around the world, especially in the corporate space.  The company works hard to protect its brand, so when you see the Windows collaboration device logo on Sharp products, you know it’s been deservedly earned.

Skype for Business certification is a certification of quality centred around the user experience. It ensures not only that the end user is guaranteed a high level of audio and visual performance, but also that it is intuitive and easy to use. Furthermore, being Skype for Business certified, the Windows collaboration display from Sharp also works seamlessly with the Microsoft family of software products.

At its core, this is why we sought, and attained, Skype for Business certification – we want our customers to know that when they buy and deploy Windows collaboration display built by Sharp in their business, they are getting the best product and the best Unified Communication experience on the market.

The Windows collaboration display from Sharp is now on sale across Europe. If you would like to know more about this brand new collaborative device, and arrange a demonstration, please Get In Touch.
