Intersolar Europe 2023: Sharp demonstrates high-performance PV modules and flexible solutions for residential solar systems and project business

Sharp Energy Solutions Europe is presenting its current solar panel solutions at this year's Intersolar in Munich (June 14 - 16). These include a full residential line-up and high-efficiency TOPCon half-cell modules.

"We are looking forward to this year’s Intersolar Europe and to welcoming our visitors to booth A1.670 in Munich from June 14 to 16," explains Peter Thiele, President of Sharp Energy Solutions Europe. “Sharp is known for its visionary approach and innovation power, and we have continued to invest in our product portfolio for residential and project solutions. We are pleased to present our new bifacial modules and our full residential line-up at this year's Intersolar. Visitors can also find out about our R&D activities and cooperation opportunities in the project area.”

TOPCon half-cell bifacial module solution
Sharp is exhibiting the newest N-type Bifacial TOPCon Solar Panel, the NB-JD570. This is a Glass/Glass solar panel with N-type 144 M10 half-cells featuring 16 busbars. The TOPCon module bifacial ratio is up to 80% with a module efficiency of 22.07%. The module is covered by a 30-year linear guarantee on the nominal power output and a 15-year product guarantee, for those within the EU and various other countries. The guarantee period starts from delivery of the panel to the final customer.

High-performance monofacial panels
Among the monocrystalline PERC silicon photovoltaic panels, the all-black version NU-JC410B and the NU-JC415B are designed for small-scale residential and commercial rooftop installations. Their compact dimensions make these modules easy and convenient for transport, handling and installation.

The NUJC410B is the new design solution with a black frame and back-sheet, and a power output of 410 Wp. It is made of 108 half-cells (M10 wafer) and 10 busbar technology. The module efficiency is 21.0%.
The NU-JC415B module is built with a white back-sheet and a black frame and comes with a module efficiency of 21.25%.

The panels are covered by Sharp’s 15-year product guarantee and 25-year performance guarantee with a minimum of 85% in year 25, for those within the EU and various other countries, starting from delivery of the panel to the final customer.

The safety, quality and durability of the panels have been recognised with IEC seals (IEC61215 and IEC61730). The modules have been rigorously tested for compliance with international standards and for endurance under extreme conditions, passing tests for ammonia, salt mist, sand and PID resistance.

The module lineup exhibited is rounded off by a Topcon 420W module, which will be available commercially in the second half of 2023.

R&D Highlights
At Intersolar Sharp will also present a triple-junction compound solar module with a world-record conversion efficiency of 32.65%, measuring 29 by 34 cm. Thanks to its structure, which sandwiches the solar cell between layers of film, the solar module is both lightweight and flexible and conforms to curved surfaces. Sharp has been equipping satellites with this technology for several years. It is now Sharp's vision to power all types of mobility with solar energy: from aviation to electric cars.

In addition, Sharp will exhibit a prototype of a Perovskite Solar Cell, a thin, lightweight, and flexible next-generation solar cell, that can be manufactured at low cost with low energy consumption. It makes installation possible in places which were previously awkward because of problems such as load capacity and configuration.

Flexible project cooperation
Sharp also offers flexible cooperation solutions in the project business. In addition to its products, Sharp also brings over 60 years of experience in the photovoltaic business, especially in technical planning, and has extensive expertise in free-field PV system project development. Sharp can manage project implementation and has an extensive network of investors available for the sale of turnkey projects. Sharp offers access to electricity consumers (PPA contracts) for projects not covered by EEG compensation.
By working together, Sharp partners will benefit from the advantages that Sharp, as a module supplier, can contribute to partnerships: direct access to production capacity and financial participation are just two examples.
