At the recent Media Production Show (MPS) in London, we showed our new 8K content ecosystem, including professional camcorder with playback and line output, and our new 8K monitor display. If you missed the show, let us take you behind the scenes with our tour of the stand.
Media Production Show (MPS) is a trade show for the media industries with exhibitors presenting products and services for pre-production, production, post and content distribution. We were there to champion 8K with our new ecosystem, showing how easy it is to adopt and use 8K.
Many broadcasters have started small or large-scale trials of 8K, including most recently, the French public national television company France Télévisions, who trialled 8K broadcasts during its coverage of the French Open tennis tournament.
MPS gave many media industry visitors their first glimpse of our 8K camcorder - our first entry into broadcast equipment – and our 8K display, which is currently the only commercially available 8K display on the market.
Sharp 8C-B60A 8K Camcorder
The Sharp 8C-B60A 8K professional camcorder is the only camcorder available today that has the capabilities to not only shoot video in native high resolution 8K (60p), but to also playback, and offer line output.
The 8C- B60A allows for real-time output of 8K uncompressed images at the same time that recording is taking place, making it ideal for high-resolution live transmissions.
Sharp LV-70X500E 8K Monitor
The Sharp LV-70X500E 8K professional display is the first 70-inch display with 8K resolution to be mass produced. It is now available to buy in Europe.
Offering four times the pixel count of 4K Ultra HD, and sixteen times the resolution of Full HD, the monitor reproduces images at a higher resolution than the human eye can capture, allowing for a clarity of detail not seen before on a professional display. It is fitted with eight HDMI ports, four of which are dedicated to 8K inputs.
8K On Stand Display
To show the ability of the camcorder to capture incredible detail and true to life colours, Sharp hosted a theatrical make-up demonstration on stand. Maria Malone Guerbaa, an artist representing professional make-up company Kryolan, transformed a model into a fantasy character over the course of several hours. The makeover was filmed and displayed in real-time on Sharp’s 8K monitor, the LV-70X500E.
The live stream was passed from the camcorder to the 8K monitor using an 8K workstation, giving some real insight into the live transmission possibilities of the new camcorder.
