Sharp ISE 2017

Sharp ISE 2017 Booth Tour

ISE 2017 is a landmark show for Sharp. It is our first chance to show off the wide range of new products we are launching this year. Find out what will be on offer with our virtual tour of the stand.

Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is Sharp’s first major European exhibition since our alliance with Foxconn. And it is proving to be one of the busiest and most product-packed shows that we have ever hosted.

Along with demonstrating a transformed product line-up across six categories, from our first ‘huddle’ display for small meeting spaces, to the world’s first commercially available 70-inch video wall display, we have also launched a new digital signage solution platform, the Sharp Open Architecture Platform along with an OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) format designed with Intel.

For those of you who can’t make it to Amsterdam, here we take a look around the Sharp stand at ISE 2017 and highlight the new products and platform additions to our ever-expanding Visual Solutions portfolio:

Sharp BIG PAD PN-40TC1

The Sharp BIG PAD PN-40TC1 is our first 40-inch interactive display for small and informal meeting spaces. It offers many of the benefits of Sharp’s larger BIG PAD displays at a smaller size, making it easier for groups of two to six people to share ideas and work effectively together.

Writing on the PN-40TC1 feels natural; we describe this as our ‘Pen-on–Paper’ user experience, thanks to P-Cap touch and Sharp Pen Software. Combined with Sharp’s Video Collaboration solution, the PN-40TC1 can be used to host an online collaborative meeting with whiteboard, video and voice, with participants able to share and annotate their interactive display session.

Sharp BIG PAD PN-70SC5 and PN-80SC5

The Sharp BIG PAD interactive display is a market leader in the office space and has proven incredibly popular in meeting room or classroom settings. The Sharp BIG PAD PN-70SC5 is 70-inch, while for larger settings we have the 80-inch Sharp BIG PAD PN-80SC5.

Both models offer significantly enhanced visual appeal courtesy of ‘direct optical bonding’ for a sharper and crisper viewing and touch experience. Enhanced features will give users better control of their presentations and more options for collaboration and interactivity.

Again, all of Sharp’s BIG PAD displays promise Sharp’s ‘Pen-on-Paper’ user experience, which means that writing on a display feels as normal and natural as writing on paper.

Sharp PN-Y and PN-R Displays

Sharp is transforming its digital signage portfolio with a new range of high-brightness displays for 24/7 use in retail signage, meeting rooms, classrooms, or training room environments. The PN-Y and PN-R displays will be available in various brightness categories and sizes, ranging from 32-inch to 70-inch allowing for use in portrait or landscape modes dependent on setting.

The updated PN-Y range of ‘plug and play’ displays come with an embedded USB media player, which means the screen never goes blank, while the refreshed PN-R range has a Mini OPS extension slot for easier display integration into a wider range of user applications.

Sharp PN-Q Displays

There is a growing market place for simple, high-quality but cost-effective displays and this is where the new Sharp PN-Q range of large but affordable displays is aimed.

The initial launch comprises four models ranging between 60-inch and 90-inch in size and represent excellent value for money for those who just want a quality screen in a standard retail signage setting, or for a meeting room, classroom, or training room.

Sharp PN-V701 70-inch Display

Sharp has an incredibly strong offering in the video wall market, where we are unique in terms of our 60-inch model. Pushing what is possible is the Sharp PN-V701, the world’s largest commercially available video wall display. It combines Sharp’s unique UV2A technology, full-HD resolution and Advanced UCCT (Uniform Colour Calibration Technology) for the best image quality possible.

The Sharp PN-V701 video wall not only has the sharpest image possible, it also has the minimum amount of interruption with ultra slim but robust bezels to ensure a consistent, high quality image across the entire video wall. Because the displays are so large, you need far fewer displays to create a huge wall, for example, you need nine PN-V701 displays for a 209”wall, compared to sixteen 55” displays to create a similar 219” wall, with far fewer bezels breaking up the image.

Sharp Open Architecture Platform

The Sharp Open Architecture Platform for digital signage offers end users a remarkable choice in ways to download, store and play content directly from a Sharp display, and allows even more market applications to be addressed. It combines Sharp’s high quality hardware, a choice of System on Chip (SoC) environment for Android™ or Mini OPS, and a choice of proprietary or third-party software players for retail or corporate signage.

We have already partnered with software companies CityMeo, Grassfish, Videro, and easyscreen to provide Sharp Open Architecture Platform solutions to customers.

Mini OPS

Developed with Intel, Mini OPS is a modern, smaller format of the OPS (Open Pluggable Specification), which lets you add extra modules to a display to make it more intelligent and connected.

ISE saw the introduction of three types of Mini OPS module: PC, Wireless, and HDBaseT, to give users greater display and interactivity options. The compact Mini OPS modules are easy to install, use and maintain, and the future-proof high-speed connectors support the transmission of 4K digital content.
